With the Nationwide account you can tale out foreign currency from a cash point abroad for now charge. Same applies for foreign purchases. Other banks charge upto 2.75% of transaction and you get commerical rates of interest that are better than any normal travel foreign exhanges.

Out of the two id say Lloyds as they have better customer service, and the halifax will charge you £35 for going as little as £1 over your limit

If you are a frequent 'overseas' traveller, neither - go for the Nationwide for the excellent exchange rates!

i have been with lloyds and halifax and i find halifax are much better find halifax very helpful and more efficient i have heard didn't find lloyds very helpful heard few bad things about halifax but i have been with them for 5 years and never experienced anything bad one time i went overdrawn by a few quid and they sent me msg telling me i would be charged £35 I called them telling them that they should cancel it as it was only a few quid but they had already cancelled it apologised to me saying the msg was sent through an automated system
