I'd choose RBS, as I have 4 accounts with them.
Service is good, online banking is ace! and also the telephone banking service is good, staff friendly and know what they are talking about.
Abbey are having lots problems at moment, as they are currently moving computer systems to Santander systems- was on the news, lots of customers having problems. |

I don't have that problem, as I never have spare money left over.
I use my spare money to pay off any amounts I owe (including mortgage), as whatever I could earn in interest on savings will be much less than the interest I am charged on money I owe. |

I just bury my spare money in an old fruit jar in the back yard. |

Why not try ING-Direct? They are pretty good for savings, mine are doing good.
Another good thing is, you cant just 'go take money out' (Like I used to with Natwest Savings ACC)
It taks 3-5 days, which leaves me with no choise but to leave it in there. |

USE A CREDIT UNION. Stay away from the "big banks", they will find ways to charge you fees with their magical, mythical number systems and disappearing money tricks.....lol |

I choose for It depends on staff's attitude & not the highest interest. My local Abbey's staffs r treat me like Im a crook. We don't have a RBS locally.I 've account with Barclays & Halifax. Barclays ask U to produce id for security reasons, Halifax ask security questions.Halifax's not too happy to serve poor ppl/ low amount investors like me though! |
