This world is setup so the poor keep getting Poorer. Examples: Student loans, your young they practically throw all this money at you no questions asked, you think you'll pay it off someday and go crazy with it. Years later you owe student loan debt with lots of interest added making them richer and you poorer. Your only break is income tax season, finally you can buy yourself and family summer clothes, then u find out you won’t see a dime its being garnished to pay back them nasty loan sharks. Example 2: your broke so buy a shirt and shoes on sale u can barely afford, you wash shirt and it starts fading and tearing just like your shoes within first year causing us to have to buy more but rich people can afford more expensive clothing made out of better material lasting them 10 times longer. Credit: were broke cant afford a new car so we pay monthly outta our asses on interest rates while the richer people pay much less for the same car. Get the picture? Does anyone else see what's going on in this world?

My husband works hard makes good money, The problem is im not working just had baby and Im not trying to stick him with some stranger so young. Edventually I will go back 2 work. My point is, that the way our whole system is set up it seems like its just pulling mid-income people down further and pushing the rich people higher. |

I think it has to do with the decisions you make with your money. I know my husband and I haven't always made the best ones (i.e. student loans, car loans, credit card debt), BUT we've made a choice to not continue to do that. So we have to pay off what we have, and we are determined to make a better life for ourselves.
We have made a budget and stick to it every month. It takes some sacrifice now, but it will pay off, and we will not continue to get poorer... |

I don't know if this answers your question or not, but college is the biggest scam in this country. I am a high school graduate, and my wife has her Masters Degree in Physical Therapy. I have 0 student loans, and she has $110,000. Guess who makes more a year? I do. College is an overpriced money grab that everyone has bought into, because everyone that makes hiring decisions are bitter since they're paying back their student loans too.
Here's the best thing you can do... go take a class in Interpersonal Communication at a community college, attend a sales workshop, and go SELL SOMETHING! Most entry level sales jobs (auto dealerships especially) require no sales experience, only the ability to work long hours. You'll make more in an entry level sales position than you will at most jobs out of college, and you'll have no student loans to pay back. |

Personally, i don't think poor are getting more poorer...its stays the same. I think its cause of all the technologies and new things that are created everyday, seems that the people who could afford it, makes people who can not seem poor.
For example... the dvd player, everyone has one, except for that one person. Video tapes are not made anymore, so new movies are not an option for them , because they do not have a dvd player, to watch them. '

Unemployed workers, do not earn money unless they get it from the goverement, which that only happens if you are physically unable to do so such as work or if you are a first nation.
Celebraties are the most spolied people on earth, they get paid to do advertizing...thousands of dollars, they receive free vechicles and clothing and etc... all for what?? Singing, and acting? A job that seems so easy and yet fun?
but why only half of us make it, no talent is not the full reason, looks . Beauty. Sexuality. People will pay to watch to see a woman half naked on stage just to sing a horrbile song.
Life...is unfair...no matter how hard we work does not seem to change. |

Yes,. of course it is hopeless,. why being rich and weathy isnt rich enough to spread the wealth,. they need more,. but the downfall will be,. workers that cant afford to live, people who cant afford a car to get to work, nor the gas,. production will suffer,. they dont care about you and I. Send the work over seas, we will help third world countries, but or government wont help us, I am sending my last payment to my student loan, at 44,.cause my parents both worked and owned a home, but my parents didnt help me, so no aid for me,. Its all about glutany, overwhealth, wealthy competing with other wealthy so they can be more wealthier,. Your in a warped game of monopoly, with the entire world, and then what,.. |

Your "victim mentality" accomplishes what? No one is forcing you to waste your money. Try saving it instead of blowing it... Anyone in America who WANTS to do so CAN pull themselves out of poverty IF they are willing to work and fore go some of the little things...
If I can come from a poor family, get pregnant at 17, drop out (got my GED), NEVER take public assistance, raise my children... and have a career (not just a job), own my own house (a real one, bought by myself since I'm single), pay my bills on time... There's NO reason you can't... without WHINING! |

absolutely unacceptable every ones right it happens every day . nowadays hardly anyone can afford to live by them selves anymore . you have to have two incomes for a family with both parents working every day just to live hand to mouth . "lord knows i do " which also plays into unattended children at home that are becoming younger and younger all the time because parents can not afford the incredibly high child care costs !!! there are way to many things stacked aginst the poor and the middle class is going the way of the dinosuars! i cant wait for a new president to come to office and soon we all need it !!!! |

right on the money. the good thing is, that in America, you actually have the opportunity to become one of the rich. that's a little conselation.
Also: poor people can't afford healthy foods like fresh fruit & veggies, just ramen noodles & crackers; so their health is poorer which causes them to lose more time from their low paying jobs that don't have sick days and even if your job has insurance, you probably can't afford the co-pay, so you end up losing your friggin job. |

Yes i agree with this theory.. It's very sad that our goverment lets this go on and doesn't regulate things more. It's a doggy dog world and you gotta be on the hustle I guess to get ahead.. However, I can say when you get money ti's hard to keep money so I do respect the rich that can stay rich... The best thing I can tell you is to work hard and try to educate yourself so you can get a better job one day.. I would also recommend you read books by Dave Ramsey.. He is a guy that teaches the average income family to one day be rich, it's not a over night method it's a long term method but it's real.. Best of luck just remember "you gotta keep your head up baby". |

The poor do keep getting poorer, but they also keep getting welfare benefits while the rich are still penalized for being rich by having to pay a higher percentage in taxes.
I think it's ridiculous when people get a second job to support their financial needs and it bumps them up a tax bracket, making the financial benefits of the second job extremely marginal.
People just need to learn to live within their means and quit abusing the welfare system. Riches will come to you if you have the same diligent work ethic, can-do attitude, and determination that the successful people in this country have. Of course there are many corrupt capitalists, but there are also corrupt poor people living off the wealthy taxpayers' dollars and not even getting off their lazy butts to make a decent living on their own. |

It's really a lot about how you think about yourself. You've convinced yourself that you can't get ahead and are blaming those who have been more successful. The middle class and above weren't born with their money. There are plenty of people who save $500 to buy a car and drive that while they save another $2000 to buy a better car, then another $4000 to buy an even better car, and never get in debt. It's getting in debt by living beyond your means that gets most people into money messes. It's not the fault of those with more money. Rethink. Believe in yourself. Read "Total Money Makeover" by Dave Ramsey, and get on a written budget. You can do it, and you can change your life by having a plan in writing and sticking to it. I live on a fixed income and drive a 16-year old car... but it's paid for and my house is almost paid for, too. You can do it!! Chin up Girl!! |
