It's the only thing that we all agreed to use way back when.
There weren't enough chickens around to pay the doctor or whomever, not every body wants or is able to work for a meal or a place to stay, the barter system doesn't always work...so money became our common denominator. |

Someone always has a good or service that you need, and you have to have something to barter with. Unless you are totally self-sufficent, you're dependent on someone else to make your life comfortable. Face it, God didn't make a lot of things, but we still need it. |

If God created us, then He also created scarcity of resources, which gives rise to the use of money.
When you buy something, you're trading value and money is the most efficient way to trade value. For instance, if you earn $15/hour at your job and you go buy a $15 CD, you really just traded away about an hour of your work time for that CD.
The reason things have value is because almost everything we use on a daily basis does not have a limitless supply. Time, for example, we each only have about 16 waking hours of it each day and that only lasts for about 70 - 80 years. If there were limitless supplies of resources, then we wouldn't have much use for money. |

Money was created out of the need to trade. First was the barter system but if your "money" was bananas it could go bad or maybe the person you were trading with didn't want bananas. Then came indirect bartering. Gold was rare and didn't have a self life. Also if the person receiving the gold didn't want gold he could easily trade with someone else. Later paper notes were used to represent the gold stored in vaults at the bank and that's when the bankers and the government realized that they could print extra notes and make more money for themselves leading the great depression and the money system we use today. |

humans desire things. its the evolution of things. if there was no money, we'd trade things. food, animals, services. then at some point, ppl would assign values to them. eventually gold and other precious metals gain the most value. then money is used in its place. thats how it happened before, and it would happen again if it all started over today. |

because people need to produce products to for other people so we can live. noone is going to waste their time and energy doing it without getting something. think of it as trading goods or exchanging services. except money is a sub for goods or services. for instance if someone made wine and someone else made bread they could just trade if they want the other person's product. but say you don't want wine and you want orange juice. you can sell your bread for money which you can then give to someone else for orange juice. (why would you ever turn down alcohol lol) |
