uk can do without the queen of england..and save on a lot of money that is rather spent on maintaining the life style of the queen and her family..
the money can be used to eliviate poverty, increase employment..
no other developed or under developed country has a king or a queen...

i say; just because no one needs them any more...
we have presidents, prime ministers vise presidents member of parliaments to take care of the so called social events...
i fail to under stand that the queen has a worth of 10 billion dollars...

For some reason, the people of England (who are by all means normally a reasonably intelligent bunch) tend to go soppy for "royalty". Like in Medieval times, they seems to consider her some sort of leader of the people despite the fact that she has very limited power and never worked a day in her life. It's something I will never understand, but she is a source of pride. They're really quite backward in this regard.
That's why the majority don't mind paying all of this tax money, despite the fact that they receive nothing of any real worth in return and that the family have such good assets and financial advisers that they could live a very luxurious life without help. Some even go to the lengths of insisting that she has a difficult job that's worth the money which is odd because many of these people do themselves work long hours with much less comfortable jobs and for a much smaller wage. |
