i agree with you in theory, give up all my money for happiness. but that is such an abstract thought. give up all your money-does that mean give up your houes and car and clothes and everything you own? or just your bank account but you still own a house and a hummer and all your things. and happiness for the moment? or happiness for all time. its just not really that pragmatic, so in short yes, give it all up for the abstract idea of happiness.

Sad but true, they just had another study recently proclaiming that Money does buy some degree of happiness.
Although there are always certain factors distinct to each culture/religion enabling some poorer countries to have higher happiness levels than other more wealthy countries.
In general however the more wealthy a country is - the more LIKELY they are to be happy.
From a mathematical perspective Money is correlated to happiness but not very strongly. Other things like religion, culture, gender, ethnicity, location, ease of getting food etc., will all be factors upon which your personal importance of money will differ, and thus so will your happiness level. |

Money is power. Money allows for a chance at an easier life. It also sustains life (through hospitals, medical bills, procedures, the proper foods for children and adults).
I'm sure a great number of people would trade money for happiness, but in a great number of situations, money can help you attain that happiness - whether, in darker cases, through getting a great therapist, or in lesser cases - just being able to go on a vacation if you feel like you're melting down due to your job.
I currently make enough to have a car, a one bedroom apartment, and have internet and cable. If I had a little more in my pocket, I honestly know my life would be happier because I'd be worrying a lot less. |

Think of all the good you can do with it! Money isn't evil...but how some people attain it can be...and they give it a bad rap. It has a proper place in your life...and is simply a tool or means of survival. If it became your sole purpose in life; then you are defeating the purpose for it. No, it doesn't bring happiness...but it can provide a lot of happiness. It is not noble to suffer in poverty; any more than it is to not have purpose in your life. There is no shame in having it. I am presently a starving artist; so my views on it are a bit jaundiced...as I would love to forget I don't have any...but my landlord says differently...and there you have the crux of the matter. |

well I'll tell ya what, I dont really think money can MAKE you happy. I think Im much more happier than that rich guy over there..I think a person may be happier if he/she had money to have the nessesities of life..but any more than that, well im sure it can be taken for granted. Money dosent make a person better. I think the world is obsessed about money because maybe they think the more you have the happier you will be, which i think is false. Lets face every one wants the money. Sometimes it just falls into the wrong hands. And if you cant tell, I dont have much money at all.Pay check to pay check.Single Mom, 2 kids, But we are very happy, we have the best personalities, and we are always laughing. Cant really live everyday of our lives hoping for more money, just dont work that way. So, Why give it up? You have what every one wants. Just curious, hope your happy and not stuck in some kinda rut or somethin, good luck |

don't agree its the world that's obsessed with money dude,its the rich that are,been all round the world and some of the poorest people that I have met, have been the happiest,whilst all the rich ones are totally miserable,life is what you make it,had big money in the past,everyone wants a piece,contrary to what people think money cant buy everything,the saddest day of ones life is the day one does,nt smile. |

not me as i like my 2 houses cars, A.C>, clothes and etc . I am obssessed though with eating , paying bills , and keeping a good credit rating and giving my kids the best that money can buy in schools , education , and etc . I am not obssessed with money as much as I am obssessed with what it can buy . Yes i am happy also in my position in life . |

I have 675.00 in my bank and I'm waiting for them to take out 600.00 for rent:-( All i want in life is to own a nice home, a nice care that won;t break and have a little nest egg so if my car did break i would not have to worry about how it get it fixed! But at one time i had about 37,000 dollar i got when my mom died from getting hit by a car that was left to me but i gave it away because all my family was greedy so, so they would be no problems i just gave it to them and never had any regrets tell lately and that's because i had a baby sense then and should have put that money on a home for us! |

Well right now I have about $250 dollars in pocket. I'm 15. I dont have a whole lot. Personally I can agree with you on that. All i would want is a girl that can love and happiness. I am probably gonna turn out to be just an oridinary person making normal amount of money. I wont be able to become obsessed with it. But the world is obosessed with money because money brings power, and in todays world the more power you have the farther you will go. A good example would be at an auction. Whoever has the most cash is going to have the most power, being able to place a higher bid and get the thing they want. Kinda like that i guess. |
