Why pay cash?

Small bills are not traceble.
People who don't track their spending accoringly, spend more than they should because it is easy.
The textile feeling is better than paying with a card.
Brush up on your presidential history and national monuments.
Remind yourself of the conspiracy theories floating about our government.

Because it's better than dealing with finance rates on a credit card.

Shawn
Because it leaves no trace. You are under the radar when you pay cash. Using your bankcard or a credit card leaves a history so that people can tell what you bought and when. Paying cash does not:)

Sometimes smaller shop owners give discounts for cash customers.

It feels good!

Why not? Its the american way and you can save on fees sometimes. No fuss, no mess!

Kitty
Because I have cash ...

Of course anything to do with business goes on my credit card so I earn miles for free trips all over the world but most of my personal things are paid for in cash...

No tracing !!

Because some businesses will charge less when you pay in cash. They don't have to waste time and money on collections and many will not bother reporting the cash on their tax returns.

Make sure you get a receipt and know who you are dealing with.

Good luck!

Why cash so your not in debit with credit cards or loans

Paying in cash provides several advantages:

(1) You can never acquire debt by only using cash. You also never have to worry about an overdraft if you fail to record a cash transaction!

(2) You can maintain your privacy. Something that is IMPOSSIBLE to do using legitimately obtained credit or checking/debit card. Not to mention, having a credit file open on you makes you even MORE susceptible to ID theft.

(3) Money talks - flashing a stack of Benjamins will often be enough to get you a discount on virtually anything. ("Geez, I really like that dresser, but I only have 1, 2, 3......$1200, not $1500...") This works better than you might think.

(4) Spending cash "hurts". When you hand over Uncle Ben(jamin), you KNOW you have given up something. Therefore, you will subconciously try to hang on to him as long as possible. With a debit or credit card (or a check to a lesser extent), you do not "feel" the money leaving, it just goes away. Don't believe me? The credit card industries OWN data says that you spend 12-18% when swiping instead of laying down cash! McDonald's survey showed people spend 25-30% MORE! (Just what we need, 30% more calories, huh?!)

(5) Even online you can enjoy these advantages by using prepaid debit cards (I prefer the Mastercards). If you buy these in person, with cash, you can maintain the complete anonymity of using cash online!

because then you know how much you spend.

when you just swipe a card and sign you loos track of how much you really spend (that's an epidemic in the US now)

cash is better beacause when you make credit purchases the payments last alot longer than the thrill you had making the purchase, the item may be in the junkyard and your still paying for it
