That depends. Were you hired for a monthly salary or just that you're paid once a month. If it specified salary, then yes, it's the same no matter how many days in the month. If it only says paid once monthly, then you're paid based on the number of days or hours worked. |

They take your annual salary and divide it by 12. If you were paid every 4 weeks then you would get 13 pay packets a year. Calendar monthly payments on the same day make it easier to handle direct debits etc. |

because your employer will multiply your weekly income by 52 weeks to get your annual salary amount, then divide it by 12 to get a monthly figure. its so you get the same each month, for bills and stuff. |

If paid calendar-monthly you get one-twelfth of your annual salary each calendar month (say on the final Thursday of the month), total twelve paydays. If paid every 4 weeks you get thirteen paydays a year, whatever the day/date. Mine's the former. Retirement pensioners in UK get their dough every four weeks, total thirteen pensiondays a year. There's no such thing as a five-week month. I don't know what "ya monthly" means, sorry. |

Just like rent or a car payment it is once a month not how many days are in the month. So in February you get more per day than Jan. |
