Not at all. The problems will start if you are on the net all day or if you are constantly opening and closing files...this will fill up the cache or in the case of the net, this will leave you more vunerable to trojan horses, viruses, etc. After a while without activity, though, your computer will just go into standby mode. No sweat. |

It won't effect it right now, but in the long run it will cause the components to wear out faster. Your computer is just like any other manufactured product... it won't last forever, and if you use it more often (or just leave it turned on) it will break faster. Of course since your computer is just going to be sitting there it won't get worn out quite as fast, but it will still wear out faster. Also, whenever your computer is on, and connected to the internet it is vulnerable to hackers, viruses, and other such nuisances. Is not having to wait a minute or two for your comp to boot up or shut down worth the trouble such things can cause?
Oh... and as everyone else says too... the electric bill. |

No, it won't. Mine goes on most of the day, to all day everyday. I shut it off at night. I will go into hibernation mode, which saves the battery, normally all you have to do is tap the space bar toget back to your login screen or desktop.

I would say it wont affect that much. Only if u are paying the bills with the usage of electricity then its ok. If u are downloading or away, then leave it on. |

Not really most computers last longer when there not shut down and restarted all the time.We've had ours on 24/7 for many years and it runs great.Just remember to get it cleaned once a year or so to get all the dust out,so it runs cooler. |

i had mine on for years without turning it off. i am not sure but i think it is easier on the electricity than turining it on and off many times. |
