Depends on how smart you spend it |

Depends on your expenses. Come on, you gotta provide a lot more info than that. Some people could live a long time on that, others not so much. |

depends on the bills you have! we could never live off of that for longer than 3 months!
But if you do not have rent, you may be able to live off that for a while |

Depends on your expenses. Impossible to answer considering we don't know what part of the country you live! |

20k would get me (and those I am supporting) through 1 month. If it was post tax, perhaps 2 months.

I might be able to stretch it to 4 months, but probably not. It's not enough for a year that's for sure! |

it all matters how carefull you are. |

It depends!
What are your monthly living expenses?
How many people - just you or a family?
Where are you living - cost of living varies from state to state!
What are you doing with the 20,000? Is it under your mattress? Is it invested? Are you getting interest?
There are a lot of variables to your question!!
Our family of 5 in Michigan.... less than 6 months, I would guess. Definitely not a year. |

It could support you for a while (maybe a year or more), depending on how well you manage money and if you are just buying necessities and paying bills; other than blowing it like some people would like to do =] |
|

You asked - I answered
 |
No! I might be able to squeak out 6 months if I was lucky... |

I could live on that for about 3 months |

For many people $20,000 would sustain them for years. For others, a day or two. We need a lot more details. And do you mean without a job FOREVER? No way. |

I dont think anyone could live on that for more than a year...maybe a few months past that if u live way beneath ur means. |
|

Rebecca

That would keep me in a no frills lifestyle for about a year. But then again I don't have a car payment and I share my household bills with another person so... |

It depends on where you live.
The cost of living is different everywhere. I could make it for quite a while on 20G. Whereas it might be difficult in more populated regions. |

a little bit more than a year but it depends where you are in the country. |

Man, that is an open-ended question...it depends on your expenses...how much rent?, car payment? insurance? food? education/books? cable? internet?
If you live out of your car, don't have car payments, don't pay insurance and buy all your food at the dollar store, you could get by on $200/month, from there you can do the math.. |
