Would you ever have a 'joint' bank account with your spouse?
I heard in the news that a country music singer's (not into country so I can't think of her name...) husband took 245k from that account after learning of impending divorce...

lived together for 16 years before we got married & had separate accounts. Have since gotten married & we still have separate accounts. Don't think that I would have it any other way. I like having my own money to buy what I want & then I don't question him when he give money to his 22 year old dead beat child. He can give her what he wants as long as he still pays his half of the household bills.

Most married people have joint bank accounts and the one who files for divorce usually cleans it out first..Just a part of life

andrewjomega
Yes. Most people are normal compared to Celebs.

Most people, in a normal relationship, should have no problem sharing a bank account.

If you can't trust your spouse/husband, then you probably shouldn't marry them.

That is what mine did...well, not quite that much, but if one knows more than the other....keep them seperate & just divide up the bills...I will pay this one, & you can pay that one...

It's the only kind of account I've had since I've gotten married.

If you don't have trust, you don't have squat

Yes and have for years.

centerstage
i have a joint with my fiance'. if you don't trust your spouse, then don't. if you do, it's great because you have a central account to pay bills from.

Beautiful Disaster
No, been there done that. He is too irresponsible with money!

Just Asking?!?!
Yes i would and I would have my seperate account

Debra B
Got several of them

ShacklesOff.com
I did when I was married, and I will do it again. At the same time, I always had more than one bank account. The joint account was just for bills.

asian chick
i'd have a joint a account with my spouse, but i'd also have a separate personal account so that when i want to buy a new pair of shoes, a handbag or a new outfit i didn't have to hear him complain about it! SMILE

Other than a joint savings account, our money is in separate accounts.

I think it is important to have a joint account with your spouse. Helps to keep track of the cash to cover all of the household expenses. I also think it is important to have your own Savings account to spend on the things that you want.

My husband and I put a set amount into our "joint" account every month - and then have our own separate accounts for our personal expenses.

Uh, yes I have a joint account with my spouse....no big deal - we dont have 245K.

:)

Penguin Gal
You're thinking about Sara Evans. If I was that rich I would probably have separate accounts.....however I am not so my husband and I have joint accounts
