A million now. Invested at 8% interest, that's $80 000 a year, which means I could live quite comfortably on about $40000 and invest the rest. I'd never have to work again. It'd rock!
In ten years, because of inflation, the value of that money would have decreased. If inflation is running at 2%, which is a good level, then in 10 years the value of that ten million would be $8170728.06. So I'd lose money if I waited ten years. My million dollars, invested at 8% (if I was not drawing on it) would give me $2243 699. |

I'd rather have the million now. I could buy a nice house without a mortgage. If invested wisely, I could earn some decent cash on distributions alone. While it wouldn't be worth 10 million in ten years, it would be a good chunk of change. I figure I wouldn't be able to stop working now either way. |

ten million in ten. I'll be 23 and I can travel the world legally. What would a thirteen-year-old do with 1 mil? |

I would take 10 million in ten years. Even with 10 percent gains for 10 years it wouldn't even be 3 million. So, the 10 million then would be more-even taking inflation of 3% into account. |

Now without any doubt. Changes in our enviroment and in our lives effect our lifestyles even tomorrow, what more in ten years time! |

Sure, the 10 mil is 26% growth and therefore more than the million.
But, once I have my first million, I won't need a second. And I have use for the money now.
A banker might take the 10 million later, but most of us (including myself) would rather take the one million now. |

Million dollars now. I might not be alive in ten. |

have to talk to an investment guy...is there a way to make more than that in 10 with a mil? |

P.S.

ten million in ten years.
Not many people can turn a million dollars into ten million in only ten years.
I plan on still being alive and relatively young in ten years, so i have no reason to demand my money now :) |
