hi, i'm 16 and i recieved a check the other day from my mom, and its written from umb bank, i have one near my house, and i heard that with a driver's licence they'll cash it. So i was wondering am i old enough to cash it by myself. I would have my dad do it but he says that he doesn't want anything to do with her.

Yup, they'll cash it as long as you have ID. Depending on the bank, they may charge you like $3-5 though, but you shouldn't have a problem getting the $. |

If you have valid ID, which you do in the form of a driver's license, then you can cash a personal check from the bank it was issued from, which you say you are intending to do. |

dude you are old enogh but do you have a licednse or a identification card cuase if you do you get it cashed.and is it a work check or a check you just found.you can go to a bank a small store that cashes them or just go to a check andcash. |

You should be old enough. Is the check made out to you. Some banks mave it difficult if you dont have an account with them. Even if your dad disagrees he may help with it. |

you can go and get an id card (you can get them at the courthouse or dmv) otherwise banks usually understand that minors get checks too, just go with your dad and have him cash it at that bank or even at his own bank. oh and if you have a school id or something with your pic and a birth cirtificate/ ss card that would help |

Yes, you are old enough. Take a second ID (school ID perhaps). Some banks will require it if the check amount is over a certain amount. |
