The previous answer was correct advice to pay off the loan completely, which is certainly the best way to avoid future interest. I interpreted the question differently. Any extra payments will help pay off the loan quicker and reduce future interest charges. If you want ~half of your next payment to go toward principal, pay $232 ($116 x 2). If you want to pay it off in 6 months, make monthly payments of ~$795 (current balance/6 months + monthly interest estimate: $4067/6 + 116). These aren't exact figures as they don't take interest compounding into account and $4067 may not be the current balance, but hopefully they lead you in the right direction. |

Most loans interest is paid off first. You will need to send at a minimum $4,067 plus whatever the interest. As it changes day to day you can call your loan provider and ask for the payoff amount. |
