Am I allowed to have two leases for apartments if my one lease is ending a month after I move to the new city?
Im currently living in a town and my lease is up June 1st. I want to move May 1st into a new apartment but my landlord is being picky about the lease. Am i able to pay for my last months rent and move into my new apartment? I'll have two places for a month but I was wondering if you could do that.

You can have as many leases at once as you need, as long as tehy are all paid for. Many people when they move overlap their rents so that two places are beign paid for one month.

Absolutely. You can have 10 apartments if you want, as long as you can afford to pay the rent.

Yes, as long as you have the money, no one is going to stop you from holding 2 leases in one month. Money talks.

I don't see why not. It's only 30 days. Explain your situation to the new leasing agent. As long as you are paying the last month rent at the old place, who should give a *%$# !

Yes there is no limit on the amount of leases you have as long as you can pay them all and they will rent to you. You should have no problem at all as the seems like a common situation .

Nagitarâ„¢
sure you can do that..........you can hold multi-leases as long as you want. You just have to keep up on rent payments

The French Connection
you can contract with anyone as many times as you want, regardless of any dates overlapping, whether you can afford it or not.............preferably you can. :)

You can have as many leases as you can afford. Of course you can have two. If you violate a lease by ending it early, the landlord may have legal recourse. If you're paying the last month's rent, there is nothing he can legally do. Make sure you have your deposit returned. Most states do not allow the landlord to keep a security deposit, unless they can prove you damaged the apartment beyond normal wear and tear. They try to charge you to repaint.....no way, they have to do that anyway, unless you did something like paint the place yourself, poorly and/or in a color other than white.

This is not legal advice, and I would encourage you to check the contracts you sign/signed. (Remember, in most cases, it may not be legal for something to be done, but if you sign that it's ok - it is.)

If you have the money, I can't imagine why you couldn't have seven leases. (Think about Mr. Trump - do you suspect he has leases on a home, and a vacation home, and, and, and?) How many cars can you buy at once? How many books can you buy if you haven't read the last one? LOL!

Have a good one...

Shaker
Of course you can you can have 100 places as long as you can afford it.
