Noiseless? Impossible. If you live without the radio or tv on to generate some "white noise" get used to it. If you're brave enough tell your neighbors you can hear every word of their phone calls and know exactly when they have sex thy might quiet down a bit. LOL |

They're not all noisy, but the quiet ones depend on the residents and the quality of construction. If you live in a crappy cheap apartment it's going to be more noisy and less comfortable. A quiet apartment will be more expensive. |

The apartment where I live with my dad is very quiet, but it helps that our neighbours have very thick carpets. You can get noise insulation sheets from a home improvement store though, if you find the noise too distracting. |

Two apartments I lived in were virtually sound proof. I never heard either my next door neighbors or the ones above.
A good way to check is to send a friend to the apartment above.. and ask them to thump on the floor above. |

I've never lived in a quiet apartment, but the most quiet I've had is on a top floor. I still could hear my neighbors, but it wasn't as loud as having sound coming from all sides! |

It’s the nature of the beast.
I’ve found that living on the uppermost floor can help – then at least there’s no noise above you, but there’s no such thing as a quiet apartment. |

That's apartment living for the most part, especially if it's an older apartment. In mine, the pipes knock really loud when the water is turned off and it's so annoying, espeically since the people above me go to work at 4am!
Just try to find one where there aren't any complaints about neighbors and things and try to get an apartment on the end of a building. |

No some appartment are made real cheap and the walls real thin. Some have thick wall and most older appartment do have thick wall where newer appartment do not as it save cost and wieght. |
