not sure what your question is. If I only had to pay 300. for two years of water gas and sewer I'd be VERY HAPPY! my electric in the states runs 300 a month, my water 50 a month and sewer is 30 a month.
The sewer fee is to take waste water from your house... sink, bath and toilet. |

Sewer = used toilet water, used bathwater, used dish water, used laundry water, etc
Utility bills and home insurance are expensive these days. It will cost even more with a house that has a fair size lawn. |

What is sewer? Sewer is the fee that keeps your toilets working. Water is what keeps the water flowing.
Your city charges your building fees for sewer service, water, gas, etc. Those fees are shared by all of the people in the condo equally. Home insurance means that if somebody's toaster shorts out while they're at work and the whole building burns down, you will get money to replace what you've lost.
There are condo associations which will try to rip you off, but it doesn't sound to me like yours is one of them - if you were in a house by yourself, $300 wouldn't be too much to expect to spend on utilities and insurance in most area. |

This is market driven, so if it is the going rate locally, they can get it. Sewer is a charge for putting your waste water in the pipes (from sinks and toilets). |

this again depends on where you live...$ 300 a month for condo fees that covers water, sewer, home insurance and GAS ( is this for inside your home or is the condo electric heat) from what your saying it sounds like the gas is to heat your home and your water if that is the case then 300 is SOOOO CHEAP! if the 300 is not for Your condos personal gas use then I would say 300 is about average, a bit high perhaps. If you on a large property, metro area, golf course, pool, tennis etc..then expect to be paying more... Every frill costs! :) good luck |

Condo maintence fees aren't a rip-off, per say.
YOU NEED HOME INSURANCE! This is incase something happens so that you as a homeowner don't have to pay for all the repairs yourself. Sewer is your toilet.
Politely ask a few people who currently live in the condo what their opinions of these things (their current fees, etc) are before you purchase your condo and you should get all your questions answered! :)

The 'Sewer' expense is for them taking your shite away. :P However, just $300 is slightly pricey, but the insurence will be pretty nice, considering you live around a lot of people, and just one of them having a cooking accident would mean everything you own could go up in smoke. If your condo has a view, then I'd deal with it. |
