I am asking this question for a friend and the reason is the person causes alot of problems but none are justifyable for eviction. The tenant recently told me he is scheduled to be deported because his Adjustment of status was denied. I assume that means he is now illegally living here in the US. I do not know when he will be deported or how long that procedure takes. |

If you are in CA you can't evict him for that reason. You were allowed to get a credit check before he moved in, but you are not even allowed to ask if they are illegals or not. (illegals tend not to be able to produce a credit report) |

I HATE THESE ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS, they run over the border like a bunch of pigs, drive uninsured cars so that if you run into them, you end up paying for it, it sucks!...My uncle employs them because he is a restaurant owner and actually owns housing for them. i asked him if they pay their taxes and supposedly if you tell the government how many people you have working, they charge you that amount for each employee, illegal or not...its so stupid, i was thinking about calling the police and telling on him. i think that even if you tried to call the police on an illegal alien, i don't even think they care. they are more concerned about money, these dumb polticians don't care...some of them are actually trying to make illegal aliens legal, its terrible...i believe that you should wait in line like eveyone else to get into this country like my grandparents did years ago, and NOBODY should be alllowed to take shortcuts, so why should these illegal aliens be able to, lets deport there ***'s |

As long as he's paying rent on time and not causing any trouble, why should you stick your nose into his private business? If the goverment finds him to deport him, let them do their job and you do yours.
I hate landlords that try to butt in to peoples business. Just let your tennants pay rent and if they don't kick them out! |

The best way is to the INS and report him... They will handle the eviction for you at no cost. |

QUESTION: Is he paying his rent? If he's paying his rent why not keep him for now?
There is no law that I know of that says you can't rent to an illegal alien. But think of it this way- do you WANT to piss off a tenant who (a) KNOWS he's never coming back and (b) knows you'll never be able to touch him and (c) you've just given him a reason to hate you?
If you want to evict him, you have to have a reason. If he is violating the lease in ANY way, you can evict him. If he isn't, you can't.
READ the lease. |

I would contact my local authorities before doing anything to tell them that you know of someone that is in the U.S. illegally. They may be able to arrest him for being here illegally. |
