Yes. I work for a company that issued me stock options every 6 months over the last 10 years. If I didn't exercise a bunch of them this year, I would lose them. So, now I have about $95,000 sitting in the bank and I'm currently looking for a foreclosure condo as an investment. Prices are rock bottom and, with about $70K down on a $200-$210K condo, I'll pay an $800 mortgage (7% interest-only, non-owner occupied) plus about $450 a month in HOA and property tax. But, I can rent it out for about $1600. Then, when the market comes back in 5 to 7 years, I'll sell it and get back my $70K plus whatever profit I make over that time.

I'm Sheltered because I live in a Double-Wide Upright Cardboard Refrigerator Box.

If the Real Estate values start to plunge .... I just pick up my house & move to a better neighborhood.

My loans are all low interest and FIXED. I also have at least 50% equity in every single piece of property.

I think I will be OK, in a crisis I can always sell some to save the rest.

But, unless something extreme were to happen I should be OK.

I have plenty of insurance, so even a natural disaster will not effect my retirement and my childrens future inheritance.

theshadow01
Yes, because I was smart enough to pay cash for my house.
