ARMD | Arent you pissed off about the Bailout????? |
All that 700 billion dollars is out there with CEO's and Brokers. All crooks!! WAMU CEO made 18 mill in 3 weeks! wtf is that about??? The FBI needs to crack down and take away all that money that these brokers made because it was not hard earned. They ripped everyone off!!! What do you think??? No real estate broker deserves millions. This is outrageous!! |

WAMU just like other banks made 1/3 of their revenue in fees. Namely overdraft fees. It's amazing that those banks generally rack up almost 1 billion dollars A YEAR, yeah that's right, A YEAR turn around and loan to people that don't deserve the credit, then the bank(s) end up closing. Now innocent people, who mange their finances, bust their asses pay check to ******* pay check like myself have to "bail out" these assholes with yet again, MORE TAX INCREASES. It's bullshit, a huge mess that I didn't ask to get into and I have no say so?? **** that. |

I know, and I can not believe no one did anything what a f****** shame. Who is watching these people destroy our country and just let it happen is as guilty as the greedy monsters that did it. I hope they burn in Hell for putting us in this position for MONEY! What type of person would do that? I don't know any. Thank God I am just an average Jane. So I don't have to be around the scum of the world. The legacy they leave their children and names is ugly greed. |

I was ready to agree with you until you called the CEO of Washington Mutual a real estate broker. WTF is that about? WaMu is a financial institution. Federal law currently prohibits banks from acting as real estate brokers. It’s a conflict of interest. Moving on…
I’m not a complete fan of the bailout plan, but I haven’t seen anyone propose anything better. I’d love to say just take away these overpaid executives’ compensation packages and apply use that money instead. Problem is, employees at that level have employment contracts. They spell out what the person is to be paid and what they get if they leave the job. I don’t see how the federal government has the right to step in and override those contracts. It would be one thing if said contracts were illegal, but so long as they are the government has no grounds to alter them.
Come up with another solution. I'm waiting... |

Unfortunately many hogs were at the feeding pens and while the Senate oversight committee chairman , Senator Dodd was getting favorable mortgage rates the others of the Committee turned a blind eye to the mess. Representative Charles Wrangle wasn't aware that the $75,000 rental from his Dominican Republic property was reportable income. I am not pissed off as you put it about the CEOs. I am at those who had the responsibility for the oversight and neglected to do their duties. My son is a senior broker who called the shot on our account 18 months ago by selling off more than 70 % of our stock market holdings, converting most of the funds to CDs with strong independent regional banks at better than market rates and said we were going to " ride out the storm ".So long as the middle class gets a fair shake from the $ 700MM all will settle out. Don't depend on Congress to do it. Most of them have their heads where the sun doesn't shine. |

I agree with you. Makes me mad after all these banks made money they still want more. |

You do not understand the situation. Real estate brokers have nothing to do with the bailout. The deal the WAMU CEO got is between him, WAMU and Chase and has nothing to do with the bailout.
If people have broken the law, yes the FBI or the appropriate authorities should prosecute them.
There may be reasons to be pissed of, but you could try to understand the situation better before you just go off.
We have to deal from where we are. If the financial system grinds to a halt, we will all suffer far more than you know. If something is not done to restore confidence and liquidity to the markets, worse stuff will happen.
People need to realize that 700 billion is what is being authorized to purchase trouble assets. It is not like the money is being given away. Assets are being purchase which could ultimately be worth more than 700 billion. The problem is that there are not a lot of other buyers for these assets. Without the government getting involved, more and more institutions might fail just because they cannot meet their current obligations.
How would you like to have all of your credit cards cut off? It could happen. How would you like not to be able to get a mortgage loan? And on and on.
There will be protections built in to the legislation and an accounting for what is being done and (I hope) help for distressed home owners.
Not everyone who is affected by the crisis is responsible for it. This should help us all in the long run perhaps even in ways you are unaware of. |

I am pissed off too but not everyone can make perfect decisions. The stock market will go up because people buy low and sell high. But I don't think an increase like that will happen again after the defeat of the bailout. Bush's plan would have worked because it would have fixed the credit problem that we have and maybe the banks would have been convinced to lower interest rates so homeowners can afford to pay their bills and everything else. It effected everyone yes but that's the Congress for you. They got scared and didn't look into the plan enough. |
