At What Age Did You First Get Your Own Place?
How did it feel? I've yet to experience that yet, but I cannot wait until I do.

Well I was 22 when I bought my first house. Until then I had lived in apartments and in the dorm with roomates (after moving out of my family home and going to college). It felt really great! BUT, there are a LOT of responsibilities and hidden expenses in having your own place. It's a great investment, and worth it.

Good luck on one day getting your own place!

well i was 16 and it felt great for the first little bit then cold harsh reality hit and it sucked. Dont get me wrong i could never go back to living with the folks but it is really hard the bills never stop and the landlord doesn't care if you lost your job and have no food he wants his money. Then on the other hand you can do what you want come and go as you pls decorate however you want ect..ect.. good luck!

I was 17 when I got my first place. It was awesome and I wouldn't chnage it for the world.....

I was in a dormitory when I was 18 and 19, I wouldn't count as my own place. When I was 20 I had my first apartment, which I would consider being on my own.

I moved in with my then b/f (we r now married) when I was 17 and he was 21. We both had jobs and could afford it. It was gr8 but hard. Bills and groceries and utilities took the shine off it a bit but all in all a wonderful learning experience.

I was 17, it was great, free at last. but i still miss the meals mum used to make, and i wish i had someone else to do the House work. Don't be in a rush to move out you have plenty of time. I am 29 now, have since owned my own property, am bk renting again . I like renting as i don't have to think about repairs

18...My mother bought me a luggage set as a graduation present.

Personally, I would never kick my kids out at 18, especially if they want to go to college.

I was 18 when I rented my first apartment. I am now 27 and buying my first home. It is nerve wracking but awesome.

I was 17. It was great. Haven't lived at home since.

I rented while I was in college, and for a few years after I graduated. I guess I was 23 and my husband was 27 when we bought our first home. It was the best financial decision we've ever made.
