Yes, they can report it. They can sue you too, which also shows up on your credit report. But, since they are not answering your calls I am thinking they don't really care about it.
Did they return your deposit? They may have kept it and written the rest off. |

Assuming you've left them adequate contact information, forwarding address and phone number, it should not adversely affect your credit. They would be legally obliged to make an attempt to collect the money before reporting it to your credit. |

Yes, they have all your info and eventually they will report it to a claims company so they can start hounding you to pay. I think the only way they cant do it is if they dont know your social and where you live now. |

It will be reported on your credit report if you do not pay. You want the best score possible when searching for a mortage, especially in this market.
You need to send the complex a certified letter, including a check for payment. This way you have a record of sending them the money. (Make and keep a copy of the letter and check for your records). Include a letter asking for a receipt. |

Send a certified letter requesting response on this issue.
If nothing else this will show some good will on your part if you are ever standing in front of Judge Judy as a deffendant. |

Only if they report it to against your credit. Most do not.. They know they keep turning those apartments around. If they really wanted their money badly....believe me..they would be calling and mailing you nasty grams by now. |

It can have an affect on your credit and getting a house. If you can't get them on the phone go to the office. If they are not there, send a registered letter their office to establish that you made a good faith attempt to resolve the issue. Long story short, you need to get his monkey off your back! |

Keep trying, it most likely cause you trouble in the future. Yes they can screw you on the credit report and that can be a problem when you want to buy your house. |

If you still live in Texas (ugh) and are near Katy, go see the people. Phone messages are just not the way to handle a situation like this. |

Yes, this will affect your credit, and in turn affect your buying a house and your rental/credit history. If you don't pay, they will eventually send your balance due to a collection agency. Best bet, send a check to the complex, and make that they sign for it, so you know it was received |

Send them a letter and keep a copy for your records. It will show that you attempted to contact them.
It sounds strange that they wouldn't contact you to get money. |

there is a good chance that it will hit your credit, i was in a similar predicament and it did go on my credit. the thing you can do is that if it were to hit, you can protest it because you made the effort in calling them. my advise would be to go into the apartments office and directly speak with someone and if that fails then you may have a problem on your hands. with the buying a house thing, you might want to focus on the apartment thing first because I'm pretty sure it will effect that.
hope all goes well for you
good luck with the new house |

It will be reported if they do not get the payment. the best thing is to find out who owns the property and call them to see where to remit payment. If this is all done before they report to the credit bureau then it will not go on your score. it can affect you buying a house. most finiancial companies will ask you to pay it off then they will consider your house application based on your creidt score and how long ago the broken lease was. If you cannot get anyone at the propperty then definitely contact the management company. Look up the complex online and click on the mgmt company info and then go from there. good luck!! |

if you paid the rent for the two months, you should have ended your lease term. do not pay any thing else. |

I would send them a certified letter about the situation so that you will have some proof of your attempts to make good. I am concerned about the wording you used here. You vacated an apartment? I am asuming if you told them you were leaving and gave them notice (even if it was earlier than the lease stated) that they would tell you how much you owe, take it from your deposit or something of that nature. The whole stiuation doesn't sound on the up and up. It won't affect your credit score unless they send you to a collection company. If they do that you can get it cleared up and it shouldn't affect getting a home to much in the future, you will just have to explain why it happened. |

I moved out of an apartment 2 years. Another person took over my lease, but now I am getting calls from collections regarding an unpaid balance. What do I do? |
