It varies, by state and cause.
In CA you have 3 days if you are not paying rent. If you want to force an eviction onto your record and owe the additional cost, it will be another 15 days before the sheriff helps you find the street.
If you are being evicted, but paying rent, it is 30 days. |

It depends on your local laws and the terms of your contract. Didn't your landlord tell you how long you had when he/she gave you a notice that you were bing evicted? Good luck! |

Check your local laws.
Arizona:
Serve you a five day pay or quit.
Court date.
Five days later a writ.
They come out same day to boot you out.
You have 1 shot in 21 days to get your stuff.
I hire a bonded person to inventory your stuff and put in storage after 24 hours so I can re rent your place.
You pay for the cost of storage before you can get your stuff!
Average time from service to lock out= 22 days!
Then I add my $3,000 lease break fee.
Collections adds another 40%.
This nice sum goes on your credit. |

I had to evict a tenant once. Had to take him to court to do so. The Judge gave him 3 days to leave. |

Look up your state law. READ your lease and the notices from your LL. Funny, you don't pay your rent, don't honor your obligations to pay LL, but want to STAND on your rights to notice. . . . . . Once there's a court order of eviction, LL doesn't have to give ANY notices, nor does anyone else, sheriff bags your stuff and puts it on parkway. |

The time will vary by jurisdiction. The Sheriff's department is the agency most commonly charged with carrying out the physical eviction if you fail to remove your possessions prior to the official eviction date. Check out your local Sheriff's website if they have one. If not, you can call them to get the local info.
Your best bet is to make plans to move as soon as you know eviction is inevitable, to avoid having those plans fall through and finding all your stuff outside someday when you get home. |

depends on wher you live. In my area you can go to the court house file for eviction, take it to the sheriff and when they are served they have 3 days to get out or on the 3rd day the sheriff goes out and removes them. Getting the sheriff to serve it can take weeks because they can only do so many a day and have a backlog of evictions to do. |

You're not entitled to any grace period once you breach your lease contract. |

You should have received a notice of eviction that has a date when you need to vacate. This is a legal process and you should have been served with eviction papers by a police officer. It should have a date to vacate and also a reason for the eviction. |

The court will give you the date you must vacate by...not the landlord.
BTW...good luck renting elsewhere with an eviction on your credit report/rental record. |

Its different for every state, usually the landlord should give you at least 30 days to find another place and he should post up a notice of eviction which tells you when you need to leave by, this is of course if your standing with the landlord is okay, and you don't owe any rent... if not he can call the police within 48 hours of eviction if you dont leave the place. |

In Australia, you should be given at least 6 weeks of advance notice before the landlord can evict you. |

It depends on why you are being evicted, not paying rent? The building is being sold or remolded, etc.
Here is the rules and regulations on evictions:
http://www.tenantsact.org.au/Advice/eviction.html
I believe the norm is that upon first retrieval of an eviction notice usually have 30 days, if you aren't out by then, they send you a second notice and that can have you out within a week or they can take further action |

depends what state you are in. you have either 30 or 60 days to get out. and they have to write a personalized eviction notice |

usually 30 days unless they have a real good reason to get you out ie you in trouble with police or you broke your agreement then there could be a clause in contract to say your out, if I dont pay my rent they give me 11 days past rent date and if I dont pay they change the locks |

It depends why they are evicting you, for certain reasons they can have you gone right away. Usually, depending on your contract, they give you 1 to 3 months notice. |

Depends on the state you live in and how far into the process you are. In order to evict, the landlord must notify you that the process has started, file for an eviction with the court, wait a specified amount of time and then gets a court order by which the landlord can ask the sheriff to evict you. Inmost states, the process takes 4 to 6 months from start to finish, although sometimes you can appeal and stretch the process out. |
