As the others have said, harassment and threats are not the same thing. If you are threatened you call the police.
Neither harassment or threats are issues you can sue over, as there is no loss involved. Would would only be able to "sue them for the house" if your loss was more then the value of the house, and I sincerely doubt you have that much to lose.

If you feel threatened, than you should call the police. Even get a restraining order, if necessary. No judge will award you a house just because you got verbally threatened. Nice try. |

Your landlord didn't harass you, so you have no grounds for suing him for harassment. However, you can file a criminal complaint against his wife for the physical threat. |

If you have been threatened with physical harm, you need to contact the police to handle the matter. However, such a threat does not give you the right to sue them for the house.
Of course, you CAN contact an attorney with your suggestion, but he will laugh you right out of his office. |

In the long run - You are going to have to move because:
1. you can sue because of the threat, but win or lose - you do not want to stay there and let them continue to make your life miserable. And like another said, no judge is going to award you the house. You are completely nuts if you really think that.
2. if you do nothing and don't move, then the threats may continue. and who wants to live like that?
Depending on what kind of lease you have - give your 30 days notice and find something else as soon as possible. |

It's your mother house and your trying to take it away. Nice daughter!!!!
Anyhow, if your step-dad is harassing you, file a report with the police. You can NOT sue your mother (who actually owns the home) for your step-dad's behavior. |

You can't sue him, but you have to call the police and file a criminal complaint. This is tough guy crap. They bark at you to see if you get scared. If you do, they escalate the intimidation.
Call the police because you live in a right to carry (guns) state and things could get ugly. If you don't and bullets fly. It's either manslaughter or murder one. Don't let him know about the recording, it could make it look like you are gaming him. |

Your landlord isn't the one that harassed you. File a complaint against the spouse. |

You can actually sue any debt collector that threatens you any physical harm, it's against the law. Google: bill collectors harrassment, and it will show you a list of things, a bill collector is not supposed to do, I would contact a lawyer and get their opinion.. |

The landlady just up and threatened to kick your azzez? No words or bad vibes between you two?
If she threatened you, and then you go and attempt to sue for their house, Seriously what do you think you'd be up for then? People don't take it lightly when you start playing around with their livelihood, meaning their rental.that's their bread and butter.
Ya might want to just think this one out and try to get along or get moving on. |
