Good luck. I live here, and I was really lucky when we found a 500 sq ft apartment in Manhattan for 1875 a month. We moved out to Astoria in a 650 sq ft apartment for 1495 a month. I really don't think you'll find one that cheap, especially a 2 bedroom, and ESPECIALLY if you're on a short deadline. But who knows? You may get lucky. If you already live somewhere nearby, you can ask locals if they know of a place to look for cheap apartments (I know a lot of neighborhoods have magazines advertising good deals, or people may have "inside knowledge" of places for rent within their building). You can look on craigslist too, but that's where I found my apartments here, and I saw very little for less than 1200. |

No, absolutely not You might find a studio at that price with a lot of luck and a lot of fees for a broker, so you will need more than 1000 after signing. Try your luck on a 1BR and move over and over like so many of us |

if you don't mind sitting in bed to wash the dishes, yes. Seriously though...$1k/month will only afford you an apartment the size of your face. |
