I survived LA on 30k in 2006 and 2007.
The life style wasn't great, but I lived on my own.
So if you've got a roommate and a much lower cost of living then I had (and have as I still live in LA) then yes, you should be able to survive.
Survive being the key word. |

Depends on you. Are you in debt now? Do you have any savings? Are you willing to create a budget and live within your means? Are you willing to NOT run up credit card debt, but to pay off your bills every month? Do you understand the importance of paying your bills on time? Do you have the self-discipline to consider your purchases in lights of Wants versus Needs? You don't need a bigscreen plasma TV, you want one.
If these things aren't true, then you can't do it. Living at home you haven't paid for rent and utilities and food, and have had much more disposable income. |

...or something to that effect.
You can survive on 25k/yr, but you have to recognize that you won't be jetting off to the eastern Caribbean three times a year on that salary.
With proper planning and responsible money management, I think you will do fine. |

What amount of money you can live on depends on what kind of standards of living you will accept. No one can answer that for you. Look at places you might live and walk thru the grocery store and figure this out. Then try it..you must be young-what happens if you fail? |

I don't know do you try to live up and beyond your means, I saying do you have expensive taste, do you pay the top prices and not comparative shop, shop for bargain, I think its possible if you get a roommate. But don't buy the highest price things shop for bargains. Its also possible to suppliment your income, do a travel business in your sparetime, checkout paycationexperts.com, hope what I said helps. |
