Yes he can. And 30 days is very resonable.Some landlords will give you as much as 15 days. but For that short notice make sure you leave the place as clean as you can and get your deposit back because the lease was terminated by him. |

he can give you notice anytime - is it legal - another question. if your lease if up in a month anyway i would just drop him a note and tell him that you are moving out when your lease is up. be prepare to fight over any deposits you might have with him. |

Your lease is up in 30 days and according to the lease, he has to notify you 30 days in advance to vacate. If he waited till the end of the lease, then the 30 days would allow you an extra month. |

Check your lease agreement , it should have the required notice and any right of renewal.
30 days would be a common provision and in your case its a notice that your lease will not be renewed and you need to vacate.
If you are leasing through a large apartment mamagement company you could ask if there are other apartments available. In some cases they will transfer your security deposit if you left the apartment in good condition.
If the notice doesnt say you should ask why you were given notice. Were there complaints from other tenants ? The reason may make it harder for you to find a new place . |
