If your friend tells her landlord not to come to her job any more and they continue to do so, she can file harassment charges.
Your friend should check her lease and state law as far as the landlords right of entry. Typically a landlord cannot enter at will, except in case of emergency (fire, flood, etc). Depending on the law and her lease, she may be able to file criminal tresspass charges.
If your friend is late with the rent, her landlord may file for eviction based upon non-payment. What they may NOT do is harass her for the rent. If she doesn't pay ... they can file, simple as that. That is their remedy ... not harassment. |

Yes if the tenant allows.
1)Why did the landlord always went into the house?
2)Is it the rent is overdue?
If the answer is no to the above question.
Than you can tell the landlord to make an appt before they come.
Make known to them ,that they are not allowed to enter the house when the tenant is not around.
Normally it is stated down in the tenacy agreement.
Unless the tenant has defraud in payment.
If the tenant pay her rent on time,I dont think the landlord will harrass the tenant. If they do,go check your tenacy ageement,I am sure there will be a clause"The Tenant shall have total privacy over the said property during the leasing period"If this Clause is in the agreement, than you will win ,but try to solve it in a nice way,try not to end in court. That doesnt do any good to the tenant.I sure that there is still rooms to talk.(the landlord cant be totally unreasonable)(landlords are investor,Tenant is client)would u want to stop your income if you collect rent on time?
O yes forgot to tell u,if your Tenacy Agreement is a fair one. There is also a clause "If the rent was not received by a certian grace period,The Landlord has the right to reprocessed the said property. |

Just tell her to pay the rent then she won't have people constantly trying to collect the rent. She is lucky they haven't evicted her. |

That's not good, they have no business in the place while she is gone, and they should not be showing up at her job either that is harassment and your friend should get the hell out of there as well as turn them in to the housing commission. |

She can pay her rent on time to avoid it or she can move. |

no they cannot....its against the law even to call you at work to collect a debt. the land lord cant come in either when you rent you have the same rights as if you own the place. I would have them arested for trespasing and sue them . |

Yes, they can as long as they are reasonable within limits. However, if you don't like you may include a clause next time to make sure that you or any of your family member is not troubled while he/she is on his/her duty. |

the answer to your question is no. Call the police if you feel someone has been in your home when you are not there. ( if you are not there how do you know it is your landlord) the police will take reports and investigate it. If they determine it is your land lord they will arrest him / her. DO THIS EACH TIME SO THAT YOU HAVE A RECORDED RECORD. the police work for you and the rest of us. They do not charge you to come to your home. this is not filling a false police report. Then contact legal aid or join a club for $35.00 who will write legal letters for you.(email me later and I will give you the name of the company) go to your local police department and request a restraining order. Make sure to catch up your rent and pay in on time / or with in the legal 5 grace days. Since your friend is a single mom she seems to be having a hard time. this time of year she can get help on her electric bill ( that was what is was designed for not for those people who are to lazy to work ) to the best of my knowledge even people who rent through the section 8 system their landlords can not go in their homes when they are not there. SO IF I HAVE UNDERSTOOD THE QUESTION YOUR FRIEND IS PAYING HER LANDLORD TO BREAK INTO HER HOUSE AND FOR HIS WIFE TO MAKE HER LIFE A HELL. IS THIS CORRECT? ( I called and ask our local police department if I were to rent out an appartment what were my rights. That was a couple of years ago. the answer was. If you have problems such as loud parties, you suppect they are selling drugs, call us. If you think they are tearing your appartment up you are legally allowed to call and sit up a time that you may go by to inspect the property once every 6-8 months. IF they did not pay there rent on the correct date after 10 days you can add an extra charge. after 15 days you can start court proceedings. You friend actually needs to get her lease and read through it.) |
