Can a landlord report you to a credit agency if it doesn't state he can on the lease?
On my lease, the only thing it states is that he (or an attorney) can enter and hold the premises if we don't pay rent; it doesn't say anything about reporting me to a credit agency. He's calling now and threatening me by saying he's going to report me and my roommates to a credit agency. Can he?
Yes, ANYONE can report to a credit company that you owe them money. Even if you DON'T owe them any money.. Then you have to show proof you don't.

Of course he can report late payment and breach of contract to a credit bureau. He doesn't need your permission to do that, nor do you need to be made aware that he will do so.
Credit reporting is a fact of the business world. If you do not want your credit file besmirched, then you must honor your financial obligations in a timely fashion.

most definitely he can
HotNurse71
Yup, he sure can. Any business can report you for not paying a bill. Make sure and pay it or it might be difficult to rent another apartment with that on your credit record.

Of course he can, but only if you owe him money. He can not report late rent, just unpaid rent or property damage.

Yes, he only needs to be able to prove you have not paid him and he can do whatever he likes.
