Can a non-us citizen purchase real estate in the us?

Hyacinth
Yes, as long as you can prove that you are in the US legally.

Wes B
I used to be a mortgage broker, and the answer is yes!

ubczoology
of course .... money talks. Look at the Arabs that have bought up huge pieces of the Big Apple.

yes. the bin ladens own most of boston's north end and their son Osama is the most wanted terroist in the world. Japanese people own the majority of Manhatten.

AJ
Of course, yes. It's sold off every day. Other countries like the Philippines, you can't own property unless you are a citizen or you are married to a Filipino national for example.

kolip39

yes, a non-citizen can purchase anything they desire in the USA. This includes real estate and firearms.

You need to ask Elton John, Pam Anderson, or the Royal Family of England

Yeah I know Pam has dual citizenship now

Yeah !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FRANK
Yes!

The non-citizen does not even have to be here. A person from another country can buy individual properties, or even own shares in a REIT. (Real Estate Investment Trust)

Green Card residents can get FHA loans. They are not citizens. But, they pay income taxes.

A company is like a "person" for property ownership. A foreign company can own property in the US. If it could not, how would Toyota be able to have a plant in the US?

Of course they can ,all information should be correct, in all legal aspects such as a real social security, and all information, and no false information.
and apply for citizenship, you will have to pay taxes, for the citizens doesn't want to pay your taxes.

Of course anyone can buy real estate in US.. It has nothing to do with your citizenship. Money talk that is all there is to it.... Look at Hawaii and Guam, these places were bought up by the Japanese. For more real estate information go to: www.pahoahomes.com
