Ask the council for a exchange. go into your local offices, talk to a housing officer and fill in the forms. If you are in a 2 bed they will bend over backwards to get you into a 2, or you may be classed as over crowded if you are in a 1 bed place. |

your council should have a facility which allows you to swap with another council tenant looking to move. It works for anywhere in the country. You could also place swap ads in local shops, see if you get any takers there. |

The best thing to do would be to go for a council house exchange, my niece did that and got a three bedrrom house for her two bedroom house. If you are living in a desirable area you will have no problems exchaging properties as many people would move even if it is to a smaller property. You can contact the local council for this as they should have a list of people wanting to exchange properties. Also look at this website as people offer council exchanges on www.gumtree.com. Best of luck. |

Well, why do you want to move? Do you have a lease? If you don't have much money then why go thru the expense of moving if you don't have to?
With low income it will be very hard to come up with the deposit and other moving costs. |
