Thank you everyone...I am starting to think that maybe i should realize that I am lucky enough to have great parents who will let me live here...and maybe it is a better choice to stay here work part time and focus on grades so I can get a good job and live independently after school. Thank you!

It depends where you are and what standard of living you will tolerate. Different cities cost different amounts. A car is a BIG luxury for a student so getting living accommodation close to the school, or close to public transit which will get you to classes quickly is VERY strongly advised. A combination of student loans,
decent part time work and helpful parents are also a big help. If you can live at home...do it!! Having your own place sounds cool, but it really is a responsibility nobody needs when they are seriously trying to learn. Noisy roommates, lousy food, roaches, rats, mice and bedbugs do not make for straight 'A' marks. If you have the home option available to you...grab it (unless I just described what your home life was like)

The short answer is yes, but it sure makes learning harder.

Of course. It just depends on how hard you're willing to work. I know someone who lived on their own during college, went to school full-time, worked, has a car, and raised a child.

ill take it straight with no ice

Yes, definitely it's called student loans. People do it all the time.

Beautiful Disaster
If you work at least part- time and take out some hella loans.

harlemcheery
yes!!! i am doing that now. but you just have to be in the right location. i moved from nyc t o ga so i could afford to live independantly and still attend schoo full time. it can be a struggle, but i wouldn't trade my life for any other,

It depends on the person, but it can be done. The general concensus is that it is VERY difficult to do and makes it much harder to get quality grades. I've tried it before and failed miserably. I moved back in with my parents and made straight A's the rest of the way =)

FILO
It's really hard, but who says it can't be done. Good enpugh, yes?

It depends what city you're going to live in and what university or college you are going to attend. State universities are cheaper for the residents of that state. Private universities are extremely expensive. Are you going to have a part-time job or scholarships? If you go to a university with a low tuition and live in a cheap apt and work part-time you should be able to pay your bills and tuition. Otherwise, you may consider getting a loan or a scholarship.
