Check the lease agreement to see if you signed something that allowed him to store personal vehicles there. If not, then, yeah, you could probably charge him rent...but do you really want to piss off your landlord? |

You can actually put a lein on it .. if you wanted to get technical. But, just send him a letter stating that you would like the vehicle moved out of the yard or you will be forced to charge him the amount it will cost you to have it towed and stored. If he has any brains at all he will just come and get the car. Legally, since you are just renting, you can't sell the car without criminal charges being brought against you, so if the letter does not work, do a little research on tennant law for your state before you proceed with anything else. It all depends on the agreement you have with him. Was the vehicle there when you started renting? Are you renting the "whole" property? Is his having the vehicle there preventing you from enjoying use of the rental? Who is responsible for any dammage done to the vehicle while you live there?
As a rule, you can't charge your landlord "rent". But, you may be able to get a lower rate yourself, especially if the vehicle was not there when you moved in and it is taking away from your use/enjoyment of the rental. If this is a major concern, have you thought about moving? |

No, you can't charge him rent. If you try to negotiate with him NICELY, you might be able to persuade him to move it.
