It is definitely a good idea to use the same realtor to sell and buy your new property, because they can work with you more efficiently to coordinate the closings of both properties. The realtor may also be willing to negotiate their commissions on the sale side since they will be paid another commission from the sellers of the new property you will be buying

Usually, the Seller pays the fees - your agent may give you a discount for buying and selling with them. Ask.

And yes - you can do it all with one person! (Makes it easier if you have a really good relationship with them.)

Best of luck!

Yes you can, Realtors love that because then they get both sides of the commission.

B.A. Baracus
You can do this for sure. They might be willing to lower their commission too since they're making money on both ends. Ask them, it can't hurt.

Gary D
Yes, you can. Nothing prevents you from doing that.

No double fee...they take aroung 3 percent each....If you like your realtor and he/she is honest stick with it.

Yes, you can use one agent to do both. Make sure when finding an agent that they are what's called a "seasoned agent". This means they know how to do a listing correctly. Most agents are buyers agents because they are new in the field or they feel more comfortable dealing with buyers only.

The listing side is more detailed in the fact of advertising and marketing where as the buyers agent relies on the listing agent to be honest in diclosures.

You only pay the fee if you are selling. If you buy from them, they get paid by the seller. The commission is split between the selling and buying agent.

A Realtor will sale your house, but you will lose money. It's better to sale by owner and save around $6,000.00

A Realtor will sale and look for a house for you yes. They will charge you for the sale, but not the purchase unless they own it. The owner of the house you buy will pay the Realtor if they are using a Realtor.
