If you gave her 60 days notice, and are paid up until the end of the month, she can do nothing to prevent you entering that apartment.
Call the police, and have a copy of your lease and your letter of notice to quit, and the receipts for your rent with you. THEY will explain to her that what she is trying to do is against the law. |

Self help evictions are not allowed in any state. Your landlord can not change the locks if your tenancy is not over without your permission. |

No it is called self help, call the police, threaten the landlord with a suit if they do not immediately allow you back into the place to get your stuff |

Depends on the state. For example, Texas landlords ARE allowed to rekey a rental unit, but must provide a copy of the new key to the tenant if they request it. |

I would check with the renters association for your area plus what ever the law states in your state. I know that in my state what your landlord has done is considered illegal. I would contact a lawyer that deals with such cases. He would be able to advise you of what your legal rights are and what steps should be taken. |

It doesn't sound like we are hearing the whole story here... did you skip? If so the landlord can change the locks, your property is considered abandoned property. She will most likely let you in to get your stuff... again, you are not telling the whole story. |
