We have been at our place for just over 3 months now, the house was for sale and we were good enough to let the 10 diferent real estates go through when ever they wanted even on 20 minutes notice on one occasion, alot of things in the house dont work, my partner got a shock off one of the light switches when the landlord was here and he has done nothing about it, twe have 2 toddlers, and the bath taps dont work so we fill the tub up with buckets, Plus a hundred other things wrong. its a gorgeous house we pay $390 a week. we have recently found out that we are 1 week behind which is easy, we payed a month in advance at the start of the lease but the landlord said that we wouldnt have to pay rent for the first month. So we did that. Now he's asking that we pay the 1 week in arrears and 2 weeks in advance or else we have to move out in a week. This has all been via text too. Obviously we have to pay it we cant risk losing this place, but I just want to know what our rights are?
