he can "throw you out" by making you move within 30 days... why dont you just talk to your land lord to get a 3 month or 6 month lease.. tell him you will pay a little more a month just to decide what you want to do... if you are paying 600 dollars a month,,, then offer him 650 a month for a 6 month lease... he will get more money and you get to stay longer. |

Yes he can. Just as you had to sign a lease when you originally moved i you have to renew your lease to remain there. It is a legal document that protects both the landlord and you. |

Of course he can. Without a lease NY only requires that either party give 30 days notice to vacate. |

Check your lease. Some leases have a month-to-month tenancy clause. If you continue to pay your rent on time after the lease is up, you may be able to stay longer without signing a new lease. |

Hello,,look at your old contract and see what type renewal requirements are spelled out. some places don't require the resigning some do, you might want to pack as you read. |

Most landlords will continue to allow you to pay from month to month after your lease is up and won't require you to sign another lease. Usually the only time a landlord will require you to sign another lease is if they are raising the rent. Then you have the option to move or sign another lease and pay the increase. |
