In Missouri State, as long as you check the YES box on your application for license that you have been convicted of a felony or ANY misdemeanor, depending on the crime, you can get licensed. We have a ReMaxx agent in my area who was convicted of 3 and is still licensed. They will pull your criminal history and If you check NO, it will be reviewed by the board - which is embarrassing because he will have to stop practicing Real-Estate and his whole office will know. They will make a decision on whether or not they will re-issue his license. If he checks YES they will review it in front of the board or depending on the crime, automatically deny his license. It depends on the state and on the Board. |

Anybody can get a mortgage license if they pass the test. It is against the law to forbid someone from this regardless of their past. Now...if he puts his past on a job application, or if the employer finds out, it is definitely going to ruin his chances of ever getting a job...if he's even out of jail yet. |

I'm not sure about your state, but in WA state you can get a license as long as you don't have a felony or a gross misdameanor invlolving dishonesty or if it is tied to financials. |
