the only way to find out is to ask what the pet policy is? If you dont see any pets living there then there is a pretty good change they dont allow them. If they do allow them, there are usually breed restrictions, pet rent, pet deposit and weight restrictions, but you wont know until you ask.

I have spoken to a government official on behalf of a friend of mine and if you live in Ontario you can have a pet and the landlord cannot discriminate against you , or else the property management would be in violation of your human rights. (at least in Canada) Check online for information pretaining to the laws surrounding landlord and tenancy rights obligations and restrictions in your community.
