No as you are not at legal age to sign a lease. It is also a real problem for repairs in your unit as a man would be at risk in a unit with a 16 year old. Stay home, get your schooling in, and grow up a bit longer.. Leave the boy or girl alone and make a good life for you.

sylviavnpttn
no, you have to be 18 to sign a contract. That's the law.

dbrh_soto
I don't believe you can at 16yrs old, the landlord can get in trouble for renting an apartment to a minor. Sometimes its even hard to want to rent a place to an 18yrs old.

No, you are not legally able to enter into a lease

Expert Realtor
1. No, because you cannot enter into a legal contract at the age of 18.

2. Your parents would be charged with child neglect and you could end up in a foster home.

3. Finish school first.

no unless you are Emancipation

I V E
You can rent anything you want to. The problem is a Minor can not be held to a Lease agreements terms in many cases if not all depending on state of origin. However, there is the definition of a Minor.

A Minor means a person who simply has not reached Majority. In many cases if you join the military at 17 u are in your Majority. Or if by law you have received emancipation, you are in your majority.

If you get someone who is an adult to cosign then of course you can rent a property but then again we get in to who is liable if you refuse to honor the agreement. The adult of course who cosigned is now liable, so technically though you sign a lease you are really not responsible.

In some states there are law which stipulate that if you are pregnant or have had a child then you are emancipated to a certain extent. Marriage is now possible without your parents consent etc etc. this may mean you are fully emancipated.

In the end it is very difficult to rent under the age of 18. Check with your local family services for more information and advice on why under the age of 18 you are seeking to live away from parents.

[ Love it. ]
You can move out when you'r 16 years old, but i don't think you can rent an apartment, i think you need to be 18. im not sure maybe you should ask the landlord.

No. It is doubtful that you earn enough money to pay the rent.

You also can not legally sign a contract until you are 18 years old. You can live in apt, but you can not rent one by yourself.

I guess you can once you have an adult as guarantor and you can pay the rent . Check with the real estate co.
