Sweetie | Can you be evicted for being late with your rent, if you've been having medical and financial hardship? |
I've been ill and because of it lost my job. I've been looking for something right away, but in the meantime my rent have been late. I'm single, with no family, and my credit isn't good enough for a loan.
I notified my rental manager in a letter, letting them whats going on and if I could pay in installments. I don't know if this will prevent court proceedings. |

Well, first of all, its always a good idea to be upfront and honest with your landlord. If they have accepted your rent late thats good. If you are behind on your rent even by a month then yes they can evict you even though you are having medical and / or financial hardships. |

if not...you need to contact your landlord right now and ask if it is ok....
if it is not acceptable with him, you will receive a 3 day notice to pay or quit (vacate) tonight after midnight...and you will have late charges on top of it.
after the three day notice, courthouse evictions start.
please communicate with your landlord right now...don't try to "guess" what he is gonna do.

Hmmm, I'll give you two answers. First, you will be evicted for not paying rent. Like others have smartly said above, try out local charities. Some will pay your electric bill, some will pay your rent, some will give you money for food. Beyond that, there's also welfare which you very well might qualify for. Or, even unemployment depending on the circumstances that you lost your job.
As far as the second part to my answer. It is very annoying and cumbersome to evict someone out of an apartment. It is a 60-day process, court proceedings are involved, and then you have to turn the apartment over and find new tenants. Really, it's not an easy fun situation for the person that is being evicted nor the management company that won't be able to collect rent on it for 3 months. If you can come anywhere near close to paying rent in any amount, I'm sure they'll listen. However, if you absolutely know that you're not going to be able to pay rent next month, put in your 30-day notice and get out of there. Evictions put a huge dent on your credit rating and you'll have court costs, back rent, late fees, and everything else that you can think of. It is nearly impossible to get a new place to live if you have an eviction on your record and/or still owe money to a previous property.
My advice is this. Decide on a course of action now and don't let bad things happen to you. It always can get worse. I've seen it many times in my years of apartment management. |

You can be evicted if you do not pay rents, regardless of the reason. I suggest you contact a social service agency to see if you can obtain temporary financial assistance to help you stay in your apartment.
If you cannot find such assistance, I expect that you will sooner or later receive eviction papers. |

yes he can. sadly but true. he as well has to make payments on the apartment and the people he makes payments too dont take any excuses and surley dont care what his situation is. so if you cant afford to live there, atleast speak to him/her in person and let him know and see what he/she can do for you. i would suggest looking into a place that may be cheaper and you could afford, even with you being ill. Yes, unfortunately no matter what the rent has to be paid. They have to pay their mortgage companies, and they will not take excuses no matter what the circumstances. Try and be upfront with the manager, sometimes they are able to help, but you have to remember that they have management companies to answer to, and they can only do so much. Ask your manager if there are any places in your area that can help pay your rent, for example the salvation army, or catholic family charities. Good luck! |

Yes you can be evicted. Your landlord has to pay their mortgage. I would suggest you come to some sort of agreement with your landlord right away, before you do get evicted, as that will ruin your credit rating.
Is it possible that you can move in temporarily with a friend, till you get back on your feet, you said you don't have any family.
Otherwise you will be out on the street. |

i hate to say it this way.but what does your being sick have to with the landlord still making his payment. yes you can still be evicted. most renters never get caught up if they get behind 2 months. i am sure your landlord has had and heard it all. sorry for being so blunt. |
