Depending on where u live. If u r in a big city its really hard to find anyone who is willing to take a chance on someone with bad credit. If u do have bad credit some will still rent to u with a credit check but charge u an extra deposit. I live in a small country town and they NEVER do credit checks here! We still live in a time where a hand shake and a mans word is all u need! Good luck to u! Some private owners who have only one or two renters will still rent without a credit check! |

Very few of them left. |

I would try to find a duplex instead. Most of them are privately owned and the owner is more worried about money coming in than whether or not your credit is good. Good luck. |

Maybe a small apartment in which the property manager is the owner, who is an old retired person and who is too cheap to pay annual membership fee to the apartment owners association.
If you know you'll have a problem, go ahead and tell them before they run a credit check and give them something else (like prepay last two months rent, double your security deposit, etc.) If the apartment has high vacancy, they might take you. |

There are pretty much no apartment complexes that do not do credit checks or check your rental history. Even independently owned renters are doing credit checks and checking rental history now.
If you are worried about poor credit, though, you may not have too much trouble. The 2 things that will stop an apartment complex from renting to you is 1. You owe money to another apartment complex or 2. You have an eviction on your rental history. Most complexes and rental companies will tell you that those are the only 2 credit issues (for the most part, unless you have more serious problems, of course) that will prevent them from renting to you.
I don't know what your situation is but if you have been looking with no success, you will need to find a house to rent from an actual individual instead of a company. Individuals are usually more willing to work with you and understand your situation and usually dont have the means to do a credit check.
There is one really important thing you need to know while you're apartment shopping though. Since you seem to be worried about your credit, you should know that EVERY TIME your credit gets checked, it drops your score approximately 5 points. So if you have been running around to different apartment complexes and letting them check your credit, you are hurting your credit score and making it worse by doing this. Good luck on your hunt. |

Not that many. You might get a guarantor or a co-signer that has good credit on the lease. |
|

dmv question
 |
Try apartment finder, there are some places that advertise no credit check.
Also you could explain the circumstances for bad credit to prospective landlord, they might understand.
Only apply to places that you can Honestly pay. Try to pay in advance. |

The question is: Would you want to live in an apartment complex that didn't do credit checks? I believe even Section 8 housing does credit checks. |

yes there are few of them left, but you get to live with a bunch of scum bags and lowlifes. generally they are drug addicts and theives, i would not recommend going this route. i would recommend a co signer or some apartments you can put down first and last months rent and you are good. Also i was looking at apartments in my price range and ended up with a beautiful first home for me and my family, and its the same price in a wonderfull area. good luck |
