Sure, why not, esp. in this economy you may find sellers very happy to have a renter instead. Ask the realtor or seller directly. The worst that can happen is they'll say no. |

Sure, you can always ask.
However, unless the owners were planning to rent (and thus it wouldn't be up for sale, it would be up for rent) or unless it simply wasn't selling and they were eager to get SOME income out of it, don't expect it to happen. |

Even if you can rent, wouldn't the length of stay not secure since you dont have any assurance when the house would be sold? You could inquire and find out if the seller would be willing to give you a written lease for a specific period of time. Wouldn't it better however if you found a house which is for rent? |

sure you can ask the real estate agent or if you know the owner, but unless you are really the foot loose kinda person it doesn't make much sense to because you might only live there a few days until someone buys it and you would have to move. I can't see someone giving you a lease on something and maybe knocking themselves out of a sale. |

you can ask if they would let u rent with an option to buy. its fairly common, generally the occupant would rent for a year then either buy the house or move out. |

Yes you can rent a home while it is up for sale. Usually the rental agreement is on a month to month basis or a very short term lease in case the home sells. Or you can rent with the option to buy. |
