i live in an apt. with a carport with storage. well they are re-doing the carports and asked every one to take there stuff out. ok i did it.and i put my stuff on my patio. but now they gave me and 3 day notice to take the stuff off on my patio.i guess they expect me to put my storage stuff in my apt. can your landlord do that? |

If you pay for storage you are entitled to use it, tell him that they should have thought of wthat before redoing a carport |

if your lease allows you the carport, then no... unless they pay for storage |

unless they gave you proper notice, no. But it really depends on the laws of your state. Look up landlord/tenant rules. Suggest to the landlord that you will remove the items if he pays for the storage and the movers. If you have to do this yourself, you can sue in small claims court for the money you spend. |

Well, yes, but there's more...
If the storage space is included in the lease, this is a constructive eviction, as he's depriving you of your use of it. The rent, therefore, should be prorated to reflected this, or let you out of your lease. |

I would ask the Landlord how long the time he expects you to do without a storage. He's responible for a rental storage too by the way. |

I moved into an apt building last week were heats included in the rent but as of yet the landlord has not turned on the heat at all since I've moved in. I live in Chicago and its always cold in that apartment. Is there anyone I can call to report him or anything I can do? |
