craigblitz | Changing Job Before House Closing? |
I have decided to accept a job offer (same type of work, more money) but we are currently planning to close on house on 12-7. I will not start the new job until 12-10 but want to make sure this will not bite us in the *** sort of speak. I will have current pay stubs on the day of closing so it shouldn't be an issue but I just want to verify that this will be a non-issue.

It sounds like I will need to wait until the 17th to start the new job just to be safe. I am not sure if my current employer could tell them if I put my two weeks notice in or not, but I am not sure. The answers have been great so so far. |

lets break down your information so the answer makes sense to you because in the same question you have your answer
you are not unemployed and have accepted a job at a higher pay ( this will make you better qualified for the loan)
Closing on house on 12-7 and new job starts after the closing on the home ( no changes take efect untill closing date)
Pay stubs at day of closing are not needed the closing is not to qualify you for a loan but to sign papaerwork about the loan
I appreciate the concern but in reality there is nothing new on your loan the job you are talking about does not start untill after the closing so just relax and dont say a thing to anyone it will only make things more difficult for something that is uneventfull. If you tell your MB he may have to wait untill you start your new job to get a new EMPLOYMENT CERTIFICATION FORM and delay the closing for no reason if he is smart he will tell you not to say anything from a papaerwork point of view its a hassle but in reality it makes no difference |

Call your loan officer immediately.
It should not be a problem but you don't want to give your loan officer a last minute surprise. |

It should not be an issue at all. But it will be in your best interest to advise your loan officer in case your closing is set back. Your loan officer wants your loan to close also, so they will do anything they can to make sure it is a successful transaction. |

Keep your current job until you close.
The mortgage company will sometimes do a last minute check of your financial information prior to funding. They don't fund until closing.
After you have closed and have the loan, do whatever you want. I wouldn't let anyone in the transaction know of your plans. |

YES IT COULD BE A PROBLEM, Right before the closing the mortgage company call's the Mortgagee(s) EMPLOYER to do whats called a final V.O.E. Verification of Employment. Contact your Mortgage Officer or Bank Immeditley and tell them the situation. |
