Do I have right to refuse agents/landlord to show the property when I am still Occupated?
I have one month to go before vacating the current property. The estate agent/ landlord keeps sending people to see the property day by day. Never want to be annoying, I understand it is reasonable, but what if they do it much frequently, and it has already affectted me from a peaceful life. Do I have a right to refuse them, or ask them to reduce the frequency? With a lot thanks

As a consumer, I see it like this....you are paying for the place TWENTY-FOUR/SEVEN.

In addition to making an appointment, I think it is reasonable to also establish what days your willing to let them come in. Ex: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays, between 9am & 5pm. You should not have to scramble at a moments notice to straighten up...whatever. This way you know what days you can expect strangers coming into your house.

Also...hide any prescription medications or small valuables. Some "prospective tenants" are really looking for scripts to steal.

Legally they can show the property. However, they have to give you 24 hours notice of entry.

You have to comply if your landlord gives you 24 hours notice of an intended visit. It is not your property. You cannot impede his attempt to let the property after you vacate it. Be nice to your landlord, he has provided a roof over your head.

Do you live in an apartment? If so, read your lease. Mine says that once my husband and I notify the landlord that we'll be moving out, they can show the apartment to other people as long as they give us a 24 hour notice. But if they're getting in the way of your life, then yes, you can say something to the landlord along the lines of, "Hey, you've been sending people over every day. I have a job and kids and..... and I can't be here all the time to keep the apartment immaculate while prospective renters are looking at it." They should understand.

If you're a homeowner selling your home, then you make the rules. They can't bring people over without giving you notice. But I'm sure you want your home to be sold! Put up with it (within reason) for this short period of time and hopefully you'll have a buyer soon!

They can show the apartment as often as they want as long as they give you 24 hours notice.

If you do not want people to view either by the agent or landlord, you are with in your rights to refuse, whilst still in the tenancy, you can refuse to allow anybody to enter the flat whilst your there.
If you do not mind then they have to give 24hrs notice, and they must be accompanied. As other say, why not tell the agent a day and time and get them all over in one.

estielmo
Tell them you will gladly show it Saturday from 11 - 4 (or something like that).

jamesdean2002uk
you should stand your ground and tell them they can have a couple of hours on a saturday ie when your shopping or just out - dont let them walk over you............
