You don't have to tell him anything as long as you make the rent. |

No, it is none of his business. As long as you pay the rent it doesn't matter where the money comes from. Beside you may get a job in the next week and if you tell him that you have no work he may evict you as soon as he can. keep it to yourself. |

Your job isn't your landlord's business. Your landlord only has the right to seek your payment. If you're making your rent payments, your landlord need not know anything else. |

I'm sure he don't care where you get the money ..as long as you pay him. No legal obligation to tell him..no. |

Unless you have a stipulation in your lease, you don't have to tell your landlord anything, unless they see you at home and ask, how you get your money or pay your rent is your business. |

Your are not required to pass this information to your landlord unless you perceive an eviction is imminent, then you might want to volunteer this information if you perceive it will help you in the future.
The best advice is stay with the landlord in good terms to avoid ugly legal problems, most tenants with unpaid rent finish up in the loosing end of any legal battle.
Good luck, |

It's none of his business. You don't have to tell him anything. You MAY want to give him a heads up in case you run out of money before you find a job. This way, he may be willing to work with you on the rent until you find a job.
But no, he doesn't need to know and frankly doesn't care unless you stop paying rent. |

No.
You only legally have to pay the rent. If you get another job in time, no problem. If not, you'll need to borrow the money, or get evicted for non-payment.
When you get to the point where you don't have the money to pay the rent - you can contact the landlord and see how much leeway he'll give you. |

Unless you have a clause in your lease that states you must advise your landlord if you should become unemployed ( which certainly wouldn't be a standard provision--but anything is possible) you are under no obligation to tell the landlord about your job loss. Good luck. Maybe you'll find a new job before you run out of money. Let's hope so! |

I wouldn't tell and I seriously doubt you legally have to tell him you are currently unemployed. As long as you pay your rent I wouldn't worry about it. |

As long as you are not in some kind of government housing, where your lease states that your rent is based on your income, or your lease states that any change in employment must be brought to landlord attention..you don't have to tell them a thing. |

no as long as you can pay your rent your ok. |

No, there is no need to tell him as long as you are still able to pay the rent. I am a landlord and I don't care if my tenant works or not as long as the rent is paid on time and he's not doing anything illegal from my property. |

Read your lease. Most leases have a stipulation that if the tenant becomes unemployed, landlord has the right to request a co-signer. |

I don't think you have to tell him anything, you keep paying your rent for 3 months and hope you get a job in the mean time. |

Tell him you lost you job and HOPEFULLY he will be EMPATHETIC. If not, well maybe you should study his personality and his reactions. He may be leanient but just tell him and hope for the best

According to the uk gov, if you sign on as a job seeker and you want to apply for housing benefit and council tax reflief, you will need proof to show that you pay your rent on time and an updated lease to show you are still living there.
This can involve getting information from the landlord themselves, so if you are looking to get help on your rent, then, you need to come clean and "say you're a bam". (according to the helpline). |
