Yes, this is almost always a scam designed to get at your bank account. If someone overseas truly wants to buy property in the U.S., they go through a real estate agency which specializes in assisting people outside the country. When someone supposedly overseas contacts a random person direclty, you can count on it being some sort of scam, either for direct theft or for identity theft. |

Anthony it is a scam. They supposedly send you money to deposit for buying the land, and ask that you use one of your checks for the actual purchase, but their checks are no good. Or they are using stolen credit cards etc. So do not fall for any of this. A legit buyer would want to actually see the property anyway. |

Scam big time.
They send you a phony check, and want you to wire Via WESTERN UNION money back to them.
Why WESTERN UNION???
Because once you send cash via Western Union your money is gone.
They cannot trace where the money went.
Run like hell from this scam.
