Take a lesson from major builders like pulte and toll brothers and from my own experiences. People notice bad stuff, like cracked cement, wrinkled carpet, bad paint jobs, ect. ect. Sometimes they won't buy the house because of the carpet color even if you reduce the price of the house to cover new carpet. They cannot picture the house with new carpet......the old crappy stuff sticks in there head. Its been my experience that you can put crappy new windows in and 90% of the people love it.....they just see a new window. No problems, no hassles.........buy a middle of the road vinyl window and you will be fine. My first house had brand name everything and it sold for the same amount as the rest of the houses in the sub. Good luck.... |

It depends if you are selling a higher end home or not. Most buyers don't really care who made the windows, as long as they suit the style of the home and are energy efficient. On higher end homes, where style is more of an issue, those buyers expect to see a quality window.

It depends on whether the upgraded windows will be consistent with the level of quality of other fixtures. If you have a well-appointed kitchen with granite counters, large baths with quality plumbing fixtures, wood floors, etc. you may find the windows help. Otherwise, don't spend extra money when there are lots of functional, decent quality windows on the market out there. People will be most pleased that there are energy-efficient windows so they don't have to do the work. |

Replace the window with dual pane windows and have a pro do it so it looks good. The most important part is good finish carpentry. I do a ton of quick fixes and they all look good when they are complete.
If you will be there forever than buy the best for yourself. If your house is just one of your commodities used to gain more money than plan accordingly. |

i don't think you need to go with top of the line windows, just some functional air tight ones should do fine. Good luck selling your house. |

help sell ur house not really.
BUT if u don't have them in u will find that to be a negativee piont.
depending on ur house and area, will determine the price of windows u buy.
do not buy 200$ saddle for 50$ horse.
if u buy top end window u may not see ROI unless ur house is top end.
u will save money on utilities though. |

As long as they're new window's installed properly I don't think that the potential buyers will care...all they will see is new window's one less thing they have to do in the future!!! |

I have been told that new window's don't do much for your homes resale value. I replaced mine anyway. The energy savings was worth it. |

Actually they can help sell your home faster or get closer to the original list price if they are promoted as being top quality windows in the home. It is a good marketing ploy to be used by the listing agent. |

You maybe won't be able to increase the price much. The increase is in the value it adds. If the homes you are competing against have upgraded window, all else equal, and you don't the other homes will probably sell quicker. If yours has the upgrades you should sell quicker. |
