Who is "they"? If you have animals and your family is going to be renting you have to find a rental that allows animals. 3 would also have to be legal in the city you are moving to, it is not in mine, you can have 2 dogs and 2 cats, not 3.

Cat
You can keep the cats - you can't keep the house.

Whether you can take the cats with you depends on where you find to stay - and if THEY allow pets. Start looking now for a pet-friendly apartment.

Please tell me you didn't mortgage the cats !

MSAD
The cats and your personal property were not used to secure the mortgage. Therefore the bank does not get those. They get the house and any fixtures attached to it.

You can take your pets with you to wherever you will live next. Of course, you WON'T be living in the house which is being foreclosed, if that is what you are asking.

shugasheila
Of course you can keep your cats, it's your house that's being foreclosed on. It has nothing to do with your pets. Unless of course, you leave the cats at the property when they come to put your stuff out. They may keep the cats. I'm not sure if you're planning to leave before they come and sit your belongings outside but if you decide to stay, they may do something with your cats if your not home when they come.

Joanie
Yes, you keep the kitties.

Monika Wilson
yes of course you can keep your cats. The mortgage people have no interest in your cats at all.
The only thing is that it might be hard to find a rental which will allow cats.
